Edge help for the Lions looks like it’ll arrive by Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline.
According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, Cleveland edge rusher Za’Darius Smith is expected to be dealt to Detroit before the November 5 deadline, with the deal expected to be completed either Sunday night or Monday.
The 32-year-old Smith has been pretty effective throughout this career, which has included stops in Baltimore (2015-18), Green Bay (2019-21), and Minnesota (2022). This season, Smith, a three-time Pro Bowler has five sacks including a half sack so far today against the Los Angeles Chargers.
