The University of Notre Dame has found themselves in some hot water.
Amid an internal investigation into academic fraud claims, the University has expelled four players from the football team while Notre Dame continues to comb through information and allegations that may include other players and students as well. This according to Yahoo! Sports’ Pat Forde.
Yahoo Sports sources: investigation into academic fraud underway at Notre Dame, football players (as well as regular students) part of probe

247Sports’ Blue and Gold Illustrated wrote Friday that cornerback KeiVarae Russell, defensive end Ishaq Williams, linebacker Kendall Moore and wide receiver DaVaris Daniels were not with the team during practice while Notre Dame declined to comment as to why those four players were not in attendance. FOX Sports’ Bruce Feldman later confirmed those same four names while later adding that it’s still unclear whether or not the four starters will be allowed to return at some point.
Either way the dismissal of those four starters for the Irish is huge this season when you consider Notre Dame has a preseason Coaches ranking of 17.
