Things are getting tough in Oakland with the Raiders.
With Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper gone, Jon Gruden the head coach until the sun explodes and the NFL unsure where exactly the team will play next season, things seem pretty hopeless in Raiders Nation as the team once again undergoes a full rebuild.
The next point of inquiry though for the Raiders revolves around starting quarterback Derek Carr.
According to a report from The Athletic’s Marcus Thompson, who cites team sources saying that there’s a ‘fractured relationship’ between Carr and his teammates over the confidence in his ability and because he was apparently crying after getting sacked and injuring his arm against the Seahawks.
Raiders headquarters is not the best space for Carr. The belief in him has deteriorated, perhaps to irreparable levels. Team sources describe a fractured relationship between Carr and his teammates, mostly because confidence in him has waned. It certainly didn’t help when film showed what looked like him crying after being sacked and injuring his arm. They saw his face. They heard his whimper. They witnessed him explain on the sidelines. They assuredly watched it again in film session. It’s hard to see how Carr can lead this team again.
It kinda makes you wonder just how much worse it can get in Oakland with the Raiders? And despite the City being without an NFL team here shortly you might wonder if many are secretly counting down the days until this utter disaster of a franchise bolts for Vegas or wherever the hell they decide to play next season whether it be San Diego, Mexico City or somewhere else.
