Here are some Red Wings news and notes from Ansar Khan of Mlive.com as the team prepares for game three against the Coyotes in Phoenix.
- Red Wings forward Johan Franzen, who took a beating in Game 2, didn’t practice Sunday but is expected to play in Game 3 Monday night in Phoenix.
- Mike Modano, who has been a healthy scratch in the first two games for the Wings filled in for Franzen on a line with Tomas Holmstrom and Pavel Datsyuk.
- Henrik Zetterberg did skate with his teammates today for the first time since suffering a knee injury on April 6th. He is still limited and will not play Monday night. “He had a good day yesterday. He went on the ice yesterday and tweaked it right away,” Babcock said. “It’s nothing. He just came off. But sometimes when you have an injury and you tweak it, you’re alarmed. Two seconds later it went away. He practiced for 30 minutes yesterday, he practiced with our guys today. That’s a confidence-builder.”
- For the Coyotes, head coach Dave Tipett says that Ed Jovanovski is ok and ready to play in Game 3.
