After the Golden State Warriors‘ 132-127 loss to the Houston Rockets Thursday night, Charles Barkley went on a little mini-rant talking about how he’s “old school” and that he didn’t like that brand of “girly basketball” which I guess was the reason according to Barkley the Warriors lost?

Whatever, whether or not Barkley’s notions assuming as to why Golden State lost isn’t the point here. Not at least for ESPN’s Rachel Nichols who took issue with Sir Charles’ comments.
Here’s her rebuttal:

Off-hand, Barkley’s initial statement about “girly” basketball wasn’t horrific. It was just plain stupid which isn’t any kind of foreign territory to the Round Mound of Rebound himself. It was the follow up comments that really give you pause, especially if you’re a girl looking to get ahead in what is still a male dominated society.
Unfortunately it seems like the World has changed a lot in the past year and a half where as stuff like this is easier to brush aside while anyone who speaks out against it is labeled as some “crazy feminist” or “PC lib tard” who gets their feelings hurt too easily. Never mind the fact that it’s just something stupid that shouldn’t have been said in the first place.
