Cardinals legend and future MLB hall of famer Albert Pujols isn’t worried about not getting the 700th home run ball he launched out of Dodger Stadium Friday night.

“Souvenirs are for the fans,” Pujols said after belting No. 700 Friday becoming just the fourth player in MLB history to reach this incredible plateau, according to the Orange County Register’s Bill Plunkett. “I don’t have any problem if they want to keep it. If they want to give it back, that’s great. But at the end of the day, I don’t focus on material stuff.”

The fan who won the massive scrum for the piece of MLB history had the ball authenticated by Dodger Stadium staff and left officials told Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. This was after offers were made by the Cardinals to get the ball, however, according to Ben Verlander of FOX Sports, the fan intends to keep the ball, at least for now.

And the fan should hold on to the ball.

Right now the speculation is the ball can fetch six figures, potentially life-changing money for the lucky fan who came into possession of it.
