Playoff baseball often times forces players and fans as well to bring out the full arsenal in order to win in those do-or-die games.
Last night was no different for the Oakland A’s and their fans who were facing a decisive Game 5 against the Detroit Tigers and a chance to go to the ALCS for the first time since 2006. So to try and get the mental edge, several of the Athletic faithful brought out the giant Kate Upton heads in an effort to taunt Tigers starter Justin Verlander who was rumored to be in a relationship with the super model last year.

Unfortunately though it didn’t work… not in the least bit as Verlander once again dominated the A’s for 2 hits, 1 walk, 10 strikes outs and zero earned runs over 8 innings of work. Not to mention it was Detroit getting the last laugh as they once again eliminated Oakland from the postseason for the second straight season.
