It looks like Peyton Manning will officially announce his retirement this coming week, at least that’s according to a report from Woody Paige of the Denver Post.
His Bronc riding days are over; the last rodeo is done.
Peyton Manning is saying goodbye; it’s been lots of fun.
I’m told Manning will acknowledge his decision by the end of this week.
In all probability, Peyton, who will turn 40 on March 24, is leaving the Broncos and retiring from the game he has played competitively for 29 years.
It’s implausible that Manning would opt to sign with another team for one season.
Nothing though seems completely concrete in this writeup from Paige who seems to know as much about the situation as anyone else. And that general consensus is Peyton Manning would be absolutely crazy not to retire.
Aside from the accusations of a naked Peyton Manning sitting on a female trainers face at Tennessee, the Nationwide pitchman couldn’t have asked for a better situation than riding that Denver Broncos defense all the way to the Super Bowl this past season. And it’s not like he’s going to be any better than what he was last season. Does anyone actually believe he can go to the Los Angeles Rams and make them a contender?
Hell no… It would be a disaster and further chip away at that legacy.
