Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had his four-game suspension upheld by the NFL Tuesday afternoon.
Roger Goodell and the rest of the NFL decided to uphold Brady’s suspension after new evidence reportedly came surface.
That new evidence apparently was Brady directing that a cell phone he used prior to the infamous AFC Championship Game, otherwise known as Deflategate be destroyed. The phones alleged destruction too came after NFL Deflategate investigators requested access to the phones information.
“Based on the Wells Report and the evidence presented at the hearing, Commissioner Goodell concluded in his decision that Brady was aware of, and took steps to support, the actions of other team employees to deflate game footballs below the levels called for by the NFL’s Official Playing Rules,” the NFL statement said.
As it stands, Brady will miss two home games against Pittsburgh and Jacksonville as well as two away games against Buffalo and Dallas before he’s eligible to return. However I’m sure we’ll see legal action from Brady’s camp take place.
UPDATE: Patriots QB Tom Brady will reportedly sue the NFL saying it was ‘common practice’ for him to destroy his old cell phones and sim cards.
