It appears the Packers dodged a massive bullet with early reports signifying that quarterback Jordan Love will miss anywhere from 3-4 weeks with an MCL sprain.
It’s unknown if that’s the optimistic outlook for the 25-year-old who went down late in the fourth quarter of Green Bay’s opening season loss to the Eagles from Brazil. Either way, the good news is it’s not a season-ending injury which if it were, would’ve more or less ended the Packers in a year they’re expected to compete not only for the NFC North but for the NFC in general.
As it stands now, the Packers will turn to Malik Willis who they traded a seventh-round pick to Tennessee this offseason for when they take on the Colts next weekend from Lambeau. Willis, who last started in December of 2022 for the Titans, took two snaps Friday night after Love’s injury resulting in an incomplete and a sack.
Willis currently has 12 NFL regular season appearances after being drafted in the third round by Tennessee in 2022.
