Michael Phelps continued to re-write the history books Friday winning his 17th gold medal during the 100m butterfly which will probably stand as his final career individual race. The gold also marked his 21st overall medal as he won the 100m butterfly for the third straight time.
Phelps will participate in one more relay Saturday before he will call it a career for good going down as the greatest Olympian of all time.
Friday though Phelps executed an amazing comeback after not even being in medal after the first turn.
In addition to Phelps, Missy Franklin won her third gold medal of this year’s Summer Games setting a World Record in the 200M backstroke.
