Justin Turner‘s three-run shot in the bottom of the ninth put a pretty big damper on the Cubs‘ chances at a repeat. Sunday night the Dodgers maintained home field advantage in the NLCS best-of-seven with a 4-1 win over Chicago as the series shifts to the Windy City Tuesday night. Turner, who brought back memories of Kirk Gibson’s legendary pinch-hit homer in Game 1 of the 88′ World Series against Oakland etched himself into Dodgers’ postseason legend with the homer that very well could be the start of bigger moments for this team in the not too distant future. And in addition to his 9th inning heroics, Turner was also responsible for tying the game up at one in the fifth when his RBI single off John Lackey scored Charlie Culberson.
Next up is a Tuesday night showdown at Wrigley as Kyle Hendricks looks to get the Cubs back in the series. He’ll oppose Yu Darvish for the Dodgers who was outstanding in Game 3 against the Diamondbacks notching seven strikeouts over five innings of two-hit baseball.
