Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley was found not guilty of driving under the influence during his trial Friday. The former University of Auburn standout was arrested on DUI charges back in May of 2012 after being pulled over by an Alabama State Trooper.

Scheduled to become a free agent this offseason, Fairley missed the Lions’ final eight games of the season after injuring his MCL and PCL during a Oct. 26th contest against the Atlanta Falcons.

Selected 13th overall in the 2011 NFL Draft, Fairley also was charged with marijuana possession back in April of 2012 before those charges were eventually dropped.
