The New Day breaks a 28-year old WWE record on RAW

The New Day

Kofi Kingston, Big-E and Xavier Woods also known as The New Day have cemented themselves as one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history.

During last night’s edition of RAW The New Day successfully defended the WWE Tag Team Titles in two separate triple-threat matches to break a 28-year title reign previously held by the legendary Demolition of the 1980’s and 90’s.

At first, The New Day thought their title defense was over for the night after beating the teams of Cesaro & Sheamus and Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson. However after a post match celebration that resulted in RAW commissioner Stephanie McMahon getting doused in champagne the trio was pitted in one more triple threat match against the likes of Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns and Chris Jericho & Kevin Owens.

This time however The New Day was able to use the other teams against each other when Rollins hit Jericho with the pedigree only to be dragged out of the ring by Big-E and Woods to capitalize on Jericho for the pin fall.
