NBA talks to negotiate a new collective bargaining agreement resumed today exactly one month after the NBA lockout was set in place.
Event though representatives from both sides have met since July 1st, the meeting today marked the first time NBA commissioner David Stern, NBAPA executive director Billy Hunter and president Derek Fisher of the Lakers were on hand.
Both sides were also joined by Lakers vice president Theo Ratliff.
Unfortunately for basketball fans both sides were far apart back on July 1st and remain far apart on all important issues. Hunter indicated that day they might start on something besides economics when they returned, since they couldn’t get past that hurdle previously.
The NBA season is still scheduled to start on November 1st. However even in early August that seems to be very much in jeopardy.
