Around 100 NBA employees based out of the League’s headquarters in New York have decided to strike in solidarity with NBA and WNBA players who brought the league to he halt this week over the shooting of Jacob Blake.

According to Malika Andrews of ESPN, a letter was sent to commissioner Adam Silver and deputy commissioner Mark Tatum that the League has the “leverage to do more to directly address and combat police brutality and systemic racism in this country.”

Andrews further reported on a alleged leaked email from Silver stating that he “wholeheartedly support NBA and WNBA players and their commitment to shining a light on important issues of social justice.”

Thursday morning players in the NBA decided to resume the playoffs after the Bucks voted to undertake a wild cat strike Wednesday that resulted in other teams in the Bubble to join their Milwaukee counterparts. In the WNBA players on the Washington Mystics wore shirts with seven holes on the back signifying the seven bullets that Jacob Blake took at the hands of the Kenosha, Wisconsin police department. The WNBA decided to postpone games on Wednesday and Thursday with players also taking part in the wild cat strike.

Like the NBA, the WNBA decided to resume their season, however, both Leagues have yet to decide on dates on when games will resume.
