In a battle of Tennis heavyweights, Rafael Nadal has beaten Roger Federer to reach the Australian Open final.
No. 2-ranked Nadal won their semifinal 6-7 (5), 6-2, 7-6 (5), 6-4 and further extended his command in the personal duel between the competitors.
Nadal currently has a 8-2 record in head-to-head Grand Slam matches. This however was the first time the two met in a major semifinal since the 2005 French Open.
Nadal will now go on to play the winner of Friday’s semi-final matchup between defending Aussie Open Champion Novak Djokovic and two-time finalist Andy Murray.
