On Tuesday there was a depth chart shakeup for Michigan State according to Joe Rexrode of the Lansing State Journal.
The shakeup came on the offensive line where last weeks starting left tackle, fifth-year senior Jared McGaha, was listed as the number two left tackle. What the means is Fou Fonoti and sophomore Dan France will battle for that starting spot on the offensive line as the team prepares to take on Florida Atlantic this Saturday at Noon ET.
“I think the most important thing about our offensive line as we move forward is that we’ve got guys sort of solidifying themselves at all positions as we move into the third, fourth, fifth week, right around there,” MSU coach Mark Dantonio said Tuesday. “Certainly the left tackle position, that’s the one that’s maybe a little bit more up for grabs right now.”
McGaha started at the left tackle position the past Friday when the Spartans took on Youngstown State. He ended up splitting time with Dan France, last year’s starter as the game progressed.
