Here are more Tigers rumors heading into the Winter meetings via MLBTradeRumors.com…

  • Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports tweets that Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski’s trip to the Dominican Republic to see Cuban outfielder Yoenis Cespedes first hand is a strong indication that the Tigers have a lot of interest in the outfielder. Morosi further writes that a team official told him he’s never seen Dombrowski take these steps for a single player before. It’s believed that if Cespedes can be a lead off hitter right away for the Tigers their interest in him would sky rocket. Of course they may have to prepare to pay in upwards of $60 million dollars for Cespedes’ services.
  • Morosi further adds that the Tigers also asked the Rockies about infielder Ian Stewart however no serious talks have taken place thus far.
  • MLB.com’s Jason Beck tweets that the Tigers may be taking a look at former Yankees reliever Luis Ayala to fill a seventh inning role.
