Tigers free agent right hander Joel Zumaya threw for just about every MLB team last Wednesday in Houston. This is according to a scout that informed Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com.
Zumaya sat out all of last season due to ongoing elbow trouble but still appears to be a low risk signing for a major league club. However an American League GM told Nick Cafardo in Sunday’s Boston Globe: “Our doctors don’t think he would pass the physical based on what they see.”
Yahoo! Sports’ Jeff Passan said that Zumaya was hitting 94-96mph on the gun which isn’t quite the velocity he had pre injury.
