Detroit

It looks like Patrick Kane may return to the Red Wings after all.

According to Elliotte Friedman, there is reportedly “growing momentum” that Kane would return to Detroit as we sit on the eve of free agency starting in the NHL.

It seems like one of the biggest hang-ups for a Kane return to Motown is how many years Steve Yzerman was looking to commit to the 35-year-old who’ll be 36 most of next season. The Red Wings seemed pretty firm on a one-year deal while Kane was rumored to be looking for three. It’s not clear if either side budged or if they were able to compromise in the middle.

Aside from Detroit, Kane was also connected to his hometown team of Buffalo and potentially a return to New York with the Rangers.
