Veteran forward Mike Modano is still entertaining thoughts on a return to the NHL after an injury plagued season with the Red Wings last year.
According to FS Southwest, Modano will likely decide his future plans in the NHL next month.
“Not really in a rush to make a decision one way or another about what’s going to happen,” he said, “but I’ll probably make an announcement in two or three weeks if I want to play or if that’s it.”
Modano says he has been “taking it easy” since finishing up the 2010-11 season with the Wings.
At this point it seems like Detroit would be his only option for a return and it remains unclear whether or not Detroit would offer him another contract.
I still say Modano calls it a career this off-season.
