The Shea Patterson era at the University of Michigan will begin week one of the regular season against Notre Dame. This is according to Angelique Chengelis on Twitter who confirmed though U of M spokesperson Dave Ablauf.

Although the Patterson move was rather expected from Jim Harbaugh it’s really an about face on how the Michigan head coach usually does business when it comes to his starting lineup. Typically the media and fans alike are waiting sometimes right up to the first play of the game to learn who Harbaugh will go with under center.
Meanwhile learning Patterson’s role this early heading into the Notre Dame matchup could mean he was just that good in practice or there’s no one close when it comes to offering him any competition at the position.
