Michigan State stuns No. 8 Penn State with late touchdown

Michigan State kept their Big Ten hopes alive today with a 21-17 victory over No. 8 Penn State from Happy Valley thanks to a late Felton Davis touchdown. And now in a matter of two weeks, the Spartans have demonstrated that they can beat and lose to just about any team in the B1G.

And because Spartan fans aren’t going to be able to get enough of this TD… we’ve got multiple views.

Brian Lewerke wasn’t great but was efficient enough to limit the mistakes and keep the Spartans in this game. He finished 24/52 for 259 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Felton Davis, had eight receptions for 100 yards and two touchdowns.

Michigan State was also fortunate enough to not lose any of their four fumbles.

Ultimately the Spartans squad that has it’s fair share of injuries (including those to running back LJ Scott and wide-out Cody White) did an excellent controlling the time of possession and keeping the Nittany Lions offense grounded. And because of Michigan State dominating the clock early and often, the Penn State defense looked completely gassed when the fourth quarter came around.

Now heading into Michigan week, the Spartans’ road to a Big Ten East title is a little more manageable, especially with Michigan and Ohio State still left on the schedule.
