Michigan State outlasts Louisville in OT for trip to Final Four

In one of the highlights of the Tournament, the seventh seeded Michigan State Spartans held on for a 76-70 overtime win over the Louisville Cardinals for a trip to the Final Four. But this isn’t simply some seven matchup against a four until you understand what Michigan State has done throughout this Tournament, not to mention what they’ve been able to do without. How about looking like a team that could have possibly missed the Tournament all together back in November and December? Or how about a group that lost three of it’s top four scorers during the offseason?

Now? Travis Trice led Michigan State with 17 points and was named the most outstanding player in the NCAA East Regional. Meanwhile Branden Dawson came up with the most important offensive board of the season and his career when Bryan Forbes missed a 3-point shot with 31.7 seconds left in the game.

Next up for Michigan State? Another powerhouse in Duke who beat Gonzaga 66-52 in the South Regional. However after what the Spartans have done thus far… all bets are off.
