Here are some various practice notes from Michigan State’s football practice. Judging from these notes it very much seems apparent that head coach Mark Dantonio is raising the bar for Michigan State football….
- After a neck injury that almost cost him his college football career, Spartan sophomore offensive lineman Henry Conway is ready to come back to the team and contribute in a big way on the field.
- Head coach Mark Dantonio wants more conditioning for his first and second string players and believes that on the field emotion is tied in with that.
- Sophomore defensive end Will Gholston had 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble in the scrimmage however Dantonio believes that Gholston can contribute more.
- Redshirt freshman Jeremy Langford has apparently turned heads and is making the most of his opportunities with the injuries to starting cornerback Johnny Adams and second-string cornerback Tony Lippett.
- Redshirt freshman running back Nick Hill has also caught the eye of the head coach. He was also the leading rusher for the Spartans in Saturday’s scrimmage.
- Starting QB Kirk Cousins has played well according to Dantonio but the head coach was disappointed with a sack taken by Cousins and an interception thrown.
