The Big Ten West powerhouse rolled into the Big House tonight and got completely punked. In front of over 100,000 fans, Michigan completely dominated Wisconsin en route to a 38-13 win.
It was the Wolverines‘ first win over a ranked conference opponent since beating Wisconsin two years ago and have now won six straight since opening up the 2018 season with that road loss to Notre Dame.
Michigan quarterback Shea Patterson was 14/21 for 124 yards and broke off a 81-yard rush to set up Wolverine touchdown. Karan Higdon rushed for 105 yards on 19 attempts.
Meanwhile, the Badgers were coming into tonight’s matchup hot on the road winning 10 conference and out of conference road games while compiling 17 straight victories over Big Ten opponents. However on top of Michigan’s steady play on offense and a piss-poor game from Alex Hornibrook under center, the Badgers also had to contend with Paul Chryst and his staff’s lack of urgency in their play calling. For instance it took nearly the entire game for Wisconsin to come and realize that the passing game wasn’t there while Chryst opted to punt in the fourth quarter on fourth and manageable while down by double digits.
But don’t get me wrong. I’m not taking anything away from Michigan in this win. Part of having a good night is taking advantage of your opponents mistakes and coaching blunders which is exactly what the Wolverines did tonight.
Then the Big House DJ even got their licks in on Wisconsin by playing ‘Jump Around’ in the fourth quarter, a Camp Randall tradition.
