Michigan football sophomore Marvin Robinson charged with 2nd degree home invasion

Michigan sophomore safety Marvin Robinson is being accused of breaking into a West Quad dormitory on the U-M campus to steal a video game this past September.

Robinson, 20 was arraigned last week on a charge of 2nd degree home invasion. Reports say that Robinson broke into the dormitory on September 29th at 10PM to the game. He was released from jail on a promise that he will appear to a hearing this Wednesday at 1PM ET at 14A District Court.

If convicted, Robinson could face a maximum of 15 years in prison.

“We are aware of the report,” Michigan football coach Brady Hoke said in a statement. “We will let the legal process run its course, and we will not have any further comment until that time.”

This season for the Wolverines, Robinson had nine tackles in five games and was inserted into the starting lineup once. He did not travel with the team to Iowa or Illinois these past weeks.
