Michigan football announced Thursday that another player has left the program. According to reports, freshman tight-end Chris Barnett has left the team…
Barnett first revealed his departure on Twitter: “No longer at the university of Michigan,” he wrote.
A Hurst, Texas native, Barnett was ranked a three-star recruit by Scout.com and drew attention when he de-committed himself from Arkansas to join the Wolverines.
Barnett becomes the third freshman to leave the program this week. Earlier in the week Michigan saw freshman offensive tackle Tony Posada and wide receiver Je’Ron Stokes also leave.
Head coach Brady Hoke discussed the departure of Stokes and Posada during a news conference on Tuesday…
“It was, to be honest with you, the right thing for them. We wish them the best. They’re great kids. Sometimes, kids move on for different reasons. Homesick or whatever it might be. I’m not going to get into that. It usually works out for everybody.”
