New Rams QB Matthew Stafford is set to be introduced to the LA media today, however, before that happens, the veteran quarterback spoke with the teamโs play-by-play guy J.B. Long to discuss how he feels actually being part of a team that can actually win the Super Bowl. This as opposed to being part of a franchise that has done nothing but waste talent and become a destination where head coaches go to die.

โThey were, definitely, a team that I was really interested in,โ Stafford said, referencing when he went to the Lions to request a trade. โObviously, past success โ itโs a team thatโs been extremely successful. Something I was looking for was the ability to step into a team that showed the ability to win and win right now. Thereโs a ton of great players here, a great coaching staff, an atmosphere of winning and something Iโm excited to be a part of now.โ
SoFi Stadium, home of the Rams and Chargers, is going to host Super Bowl LVI next year and Staffordโs new team has aspirations to play in that game. Thatโs a challenge heโs embracing.
โIโm excited about it. Itโs something that Iโll take a bunch of pride in, making sure I come to work every single day doing everything I can to help this team win โ something Iโve done for a long time and it hasnโt panned out,โ Stafford said. โSo Iโm excited to be a part of a team thatโs a proven winner and hopefully I can raise my level of play and raise those guysโ around me level of play a little bit more and we can get the thing done.
โBecause in the end, thatโs what you play this game for. You play this game for team success and thatโs all I want to do, is help bring that to this city and this team.โ
