Jeff Okudah looks like he’ll be the latest Lions player who’ll have to wait until week two to make their season debut.

According to Ian Rapoport, the number three overall selection by the Lions in this past year’s draft will be out of action against Chicago due to a hamstring injury.

Hamstring issues have now managed to take its toll on key players on both sides of the ball for the Lions. Friday, Kenny Golladay’s status for Sunday was changed from “questionable” to “doubtful” as he continues to deal with his own hamstring issues. However, unlike Golladay, Okudah’s struggles in camp have led to him being an unlikely starter today as 2019 fifth-round selection Amani Oruwariye has taken most of the first-team reps opposite of Desmond Trufant. Still, you’d like to get your top pick available in any draft out getting actual game reps, especially this season after the entire preseason was shelved due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
