Tim Twentyman of the Detroit News has various injury updates on Lions players…
- Lions safety Amari Spievey left last Sunday’s game in the second half because of a hamstring injury. Lions head coach Jim Schwartz characterized the injury as being day-to-day and it’s not known if he will be able to give it a go this Monday night. To add further concern to the situation, reserve safety Erik Coleman also left the game with a leg injury and was later seen on crutches and wearing a boot. Schwartz admitted that Coleman will be out for “a little bit” yet there is still some uncertainty surrounding the safety position going into Monday. If neither Spievey or Coleman can go, Twentyman points out that the only other true safety on the roster (other then Louis Delmas) is John Wendling and Ricardo Silva (who is currently on the practice squad). Wendling has certainly made a name for himself on special teams but has never started an NFL game at the safety position. That may not be the case this weekend.
- Linebacker Justin Durant who was held out this past weekend in Dallas due to a concussion is confident he’ll be back Monday against the Bears. Durant says he plans to take a concussion test early in the week.
- RB Maurice Morris was seen with his right knee heavily wrapped in the locker room after the win in Dallas. No word yet on if he’ll be available Monday night against Chicago.
