It seems like the Lions have a pretty interesting way to prove to the head coach you’re good to go from injury.
According to Dan Campbell, Lions center Frank Ragnow who was held out of the Monday Night game against the Seahawks due to a torn pec punched the head coach against the wall at the team’s practice facility to prove that his injured pec was good enough to go this weekend against Dallas.
“Last week, right before Seattle, I walked down there to talk to our trainer and somebody punches me against the wall,” Campbell explained on Lions’ flagship radio. “And I’m not even paying attention because I’m looking at our trainer. And then I get punched again and I realize it’s Frank and he’s trying to show me that his pec is great. That’s his way of telling me, ‘Look how strong I am. It’s good, it’s healed.’ He’s in a good mindset, he’s ready and he wants to go.”
This is one of the best stories you’ll hear all day. A couple of weeks ago, Campbell said that Ragnow as “stubborn” and “hard-headed” so you can only imagine what it was like telling Frank that he would have to sit out against the Seahawks. In any sense, Ragnow punching his head coach to prove the pec is ready to go against Dallas adds up.
