Lions down another defensive back with Drayton Florence forearm injury

The Lions lost more than just the game Sunday night against the 49ers, they also lost another defensive back as recently acquired Drayton Florence went down with a forearm injury.

Already without starters Chris Houston, Louis Delmas and rookie Bill Bentley, head coach Jim Schwartz game an update on Florence’s injury today during his meeting with the media.

“He’s in the process right now of going through it,” Schwartz said, via Anwar Richardson of MLive.com. “He got some preliminary stuff at the stadium, but he’s going to have some more stuff. It doesn’t look real good, but we’ll see.”

Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press later reported that Florence sustained a broken arm and could miss significant time.

At this point it’s unclear who will be getting the start next weekend against Tennessee. Florence is probably done for a while while the Bentley, Houston and Delmas’ statuses are still up in the air. Aside from the injured contingent, the Lions are now down to Jacob Lacey, Kevin Barnes and Jonte Green as their only healthy corners.
