Lane Kiffin booed by Ole Miss fans as he boarded a plane for LSU

Lane Kiffin is LSU-bound, and Ole Miss fans let him have it as he boarded a plane bound for Baton Rouge.

Sunday, Kiffin accepted his new gig with the Tigers that’ll pay him roughly $13 million annually with substantial NIL support after leading the Rebels to an 11-1 record in his final season (2025), their first-ever 11-win regular season. His overall record at Ole Miss was 55-19. Kiffin’s hiring comes after the school fired Brian Kelly earlier in November.

Kiffin mentioned that the Egg Bowl victory over Mississippi State would be his last on the Ole Miss sidelines and wanted to coach the Rebels in the postseason; however, that request was denied. In turn, Ole Miss promoted defensive coordinator Pete Golding to the head coach position to immediately take over the team for its playoff run.

Meanwhile, LSU will be Kiffin’s fifth college head-coaching stint, following stops at Tennessee, USC, Florida Atlantic, and the aforementioned Ole Miss.
