LaDainian Tomlinson will end his career where it all began.

Tomlinson will announce his retirement Monday as a San Diego Charger, the team he spent the first nine seasons of his 11 year NFL career with before finishing out with the New York Jets for two seasons.

LT as he eventually became to be known is the fifth-leading rusher in league history and was named the league’s MVP in 2006.

Tomlinson was contemplating returning for another season if the situation was right while many Chargers fans were hoping for a reunion on the field as a third down back. The chances of this however seemed bleak with general manager A.J. Smith in control.

Instead LT will sign on with the Chargers on Monday and immediately announce his retirement finishing his career 13,684 yards and 145 touchdowns.
