According to various reports, Kiyan Anthony, son of former NBA player Carmelo Anthony, has officially committed to Syracuse, his dadโ€™s alma mater.

โ€œUltimately, it came down to my relationship with the staff,โ€ Anthony told ESPN. โ€œFrom day one, when they started recruiting me, they made me feel like it was family. My dadโ€™s name on the facility is special, but I want to go in there and create my own name, and Iโ€™ve already done that through my dedication in the offseason, with early-morning practices, playing at camps, playing on the circuit.โ€

While his fatherโ€™s connection to the school was a huge factor in his recruitment, Anthony also developed his own strong relationship with coach Adrian Autry.

โ€œIโ€™m going to do everything Coach Autry needs me to do,โ€ Anthony said. โ€œWe talk a lot, especially late at night, about how we can make Syracuse basketball great. Off the court, Coach is super cool. You could go out with him on a Friday night. Heโ€™s still young and connects with all his players; he is very relatable.โ€

The 36th overall prospect for the 2025 class, Kiyan made the announcement on his Dadโ€™s โ€œ7PM in Brooklynโ€ show and chose the Orange over USC and Auburn while also taking a visit with Florida State.

According to 247 Sports, Anthony is a four-star recruit and the sixth-best player in the state of New York. Standing at 6 feet 4 inches, Kiyan doesnโ€™t have the height of his dad. However, throughout his time at Long Island Lutheran, Anthony has developed into a pretty dangerous scorer, especially when it comes to contested shots.
