It is widely known that the Kansas City Royals have one of the best farm systems in all of Major League Baseball with plenty of players like Eric Hosmer, Mike Moustakas and Lorenzo Cain almost ready to break through. However one area in the Royals’ organization that lacks is pitching.
Bob Dutton of the Kansas City Star writes that GM Dayton Moore is willing to move prospects to land said starting pitching.
So who could the Royals go after this offseason?
Wandy Rodriguez of the Houston Astros and Jair Jurrjens of the Atlanta Braves could be potential targets for the Royals once the offseason rolls around. It’s also possible that the Giants put Jonathan Sanchez on the block with the Los Angeles Dodgers doing the same with Chad Billingsly.
Among the Royals prospects that could land such a pitcher are outfielder Wil Myers and middle infielder Christian Colon.
