After some early race trouble that forced him to make his way back through the entire field, Juan Pablo Montoya won his second Indianapolis 500 this afternoon taking the lead with just three laps to go.
Out dueling Penske teammate Will Power as well as Scott Dixon, Montoya’s early trouble included getting rear ended in the early stages of the race that tore up his rear fender. Montoya was also assessed a warning after overshooting his pit and running over an air hose.
However, Montoya was able to battle back while a three car crash on lap 22 caused the field the bunch up and set him up for the win.

Amazingly today’s Indy 500 was just Montoya’s third. His first win came back in 2000 before jumping to NASCAR. Upon his return in 2014 he finished a respectable 5th before taking home the glory once again this year.
