49ers wide-receiver Deebo Samuel was carted off the field today after suffering an ankle injury against the Buccaneers.
Samuel has become the third major injury on the Niners’ offense so far this season, something San Francisco great Jerry Rice has taken note of.
Luckily for the 49ers though, they may have escaped catastrophe with Samuel as it’s being reported that the wide-out has just a badly sprained ankle and not a knee injury as what was originally thought.
Either way, the Niners have been incredibly lucky, not just with the sudden optimism surrounding Deebo’s injury but also with the way Brick Purdy has been playing in Jimmy G’s absence.
