Ellie Day, wife of pro golfer Jason Day left Quicken Loans Arena Thursday night on a stretcher after a scary courtside collision with LeBron James.
The incident happen during the fourth quarter of the Thunder/Cavaliers game when James chased a loose ball out-of-bounds and into Ellie Day who recently gave birth to her second child with the pro golfer.

Ellie Day is said to be doing okay and was released from a Cleveland area hospital early Friday morning. James tweeted an apology overnight wishing her well and hoping at a return to another Cavs gave soon.

Cavs head coach David Blatt also commented on the incident shedding light on what I’ll assume will be a talking point for many weeks… the proximity of courtside seats and the suspected danger with them.
“We all hope that she’s OK. It’s always concerned me, the sideline seats. Always concerned me, because things like that, when you’re talking about players of this speed and physicality and effort level, it’s not a simple thing.
“The powers that be are the ones that really need to decide how to deal with that. He made an honest attempt at the basketball, that’s all, obviously. We all hope she’s OK.” (via the Associated Press)
James who is 6-foot-8 and 250 pounds obviously posses a danger to just about anyone sitting courtside at an NBA game if he’s going to chase balls into the crowd.
How often does something like this happen though?
Like fans who sit along the first or third base lines at baseball games, there’s a certain danger you take a chance with when sitting courtside at a basketball game. If you’re unwilling to take that chance then don’t sit there.
