Is Ohio State really in the position to be taking shots at Michigan?

Michigan fans have heard it from Ohio State fans for some time now. Michigan fans know about the 2,703 some days since the Wolverines have beaten the Buckeyes in football. They’ve heard all the Rich Rod jokes, the Josh Groban ribbing and the NCAA sanctions for practicing too much and not showing much for it on the football field.

This past weekend Michigan held its first spring game in the Brady Hoke era and Hoke himself was very blunt on his thoughts after wards. Hoke said, I don’t think we’re where we need to be, by far, at any position. In which case he is absolutely right and for any realistic Michigan fan this comes as no surprise. The team is experiencing a major overhaul which without a doubt will take some time before the team is competing for Big Ten championships once again.

Of course, Ohio State fans jumped at the opportunity to again get their shots in on what is still a vulnerable Michigan team. Most of this ribbing came from the website scarletandgame.com.

Here is some of what they had to say…

I think everyone has been trying to tell you that Brady. The fact of the matter is that as ultimate fighter season 13 coach Brock Lesnar says, you’re trying to make chicken salad out of chicken shit. Despite a decent recruiting class on your way in, and being able to teach these guys some things they already didn’t know, it’s not enough. Having the support of alumni and former greats at the school also will not help you win ballgames. This is more than just a small pothole to overcome.

The question that arises in all of this though is Ohio State really in the position to be making fun of anyone?

Ohio State is on the doorstep of possibly one of the biggest NCAA investigations in Ohio State and NCAA history. They could be one mistake away from having Jim Tressel fired and suffer so many different types of athletic sanctions that their non-conference cupcake schedule may end up looking more like a run through the SEC than the MAC or Conference USA.

Be careful what you say Ohio State, you soon could also be trying to make chicken salad out of chicken shit.
