Howard Stern isn’t going anywhere much to the delight of SiriusXM and his rabid fanbase.
The King of All Media announced on his Tuesday show that he had signed a five-year deal with SiriusXM, an announcement that comes a day before his current contract was set to expire.

Stern’s announcement also comes amid some speculation that he’d jump ship, potentially to internet radio a medium he’s yet to tackle in his nearly four-decade long radio career.

Stern first made the jump from terrestrial to satellite back in 2005 which at the time was a major move for a major radio personality like the King considering the infancy of the media platform. However with Stern’s presence at Sirius helped the company not only engulf XM but also become a mainstay among new car models across the country.
The financials of Stern’s deal with SiriusXM haven’t been released however his previous contract paid out around $80 million dollars annually. It’s probably safe to say this new deal will exceed that price tag, especially when you consider the new video app that is set to be released for the show in the near future.
