Hoke: No change in Stonum’s status after latest run in with the law

Michigan head coach Brady Hoke announced Thursday afternoon that there will be no change in the status of senior receiver Darryl Stonum.

Stonum was given a redshirt at the beginning of the season after he was charged last year with his second drunken driving arrest. He was ticketed Thursday morning after driving with a revoked license shortly after meeting with his probation officer.

According to AnnArbor.com, court records are also indicating that Stonum lied about how he got to his appointment saying a female dropped him off.

Despite Hoke saying Stonum’s status with the team will not change, there is still a chance the head coach can change his mind later on down the road…

“Until we know everything, it hasn’t changed,” Hoke said today at a previously scheduled season wrap-up news conference.

When asked if he was concerned about Stonum’s decision-making, Hoke simply replied, “No.”

Stonum’s next hearing is Friday morning in which case he could face a probation violation and jail time.
