With the regular season drawing near for Michigan, head coach Brady Hoke still has yet to name a starting running back. However if the season were to start today, Hoke knows who his starting tail back would be…

β€œMike Shaw,” Hoke said after Tuesday’s practice. β€œHe’s been more consistent on a daily basis. He’s improved a little bit.

β€œComing into (camp), I think (running backs coach) Fred (Jackson) would have told you he’s a little concerned about the passing game and the protections in the passing game, and I think he’s improved in that part.”

The 6-1, 195lb native of Trotwood, Ohio, Shaw enters his senior season having rushed for 402 yards last season on 75 attempts with nine touchdowns. These were all career highs.
