Hamilton hitting the trade block once again when lockout is over?

Even though Joe Dumars’ hands are tied once again (this time due to lockout) the plan still seems to be to trade veteran two guard Richard “Rip” Hamilton once the NBA opens its doors to players.

Here is what Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press has to say on the situation…

“Hamilton, 33, will be on the trading block as soon as regular business begins in the NBA, and the Pistons need to eventually turn the page to the next era. Hamilton might be more valuable as potential trade bait whenever the next trade deadline comes.”

But the hurdle for the Pistons has always been trying to find a suitor to take on an aging guard with a bloated contract. Now despite all that the Chicago Bulls may emerge as a suitor for Hamilton’s services. Rip could fill in next to Derrick Rose and provide Chicago with that second back court scoring option that they’ve been seeking.

Again the Bulls may be inclined to pass on the 33-year-old Hamilton for a younger, longer-term option.
