KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh released exclusive footage of Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin stepping towards the field conveniently placing himself far too close to Baltimore’s Jacoby Jones during a return. Not only that, Tomlin appeared to be on the field of play which very much could’ve forced Jones to alter his own path and into the Pittsburgh defenders.
Aside though from Tomlin’s timely side-step shuffle what’s also remarkable was the fact that not one but two NFL officials where in perfect position to flag the Pittsburgh head coach during the play but to no avail.
But even though Tomlin alluded the on-field officials, the NFL is expected to hand down some type of punishment on the Steelers as a whole, Mike Tomlin or both. And if you want to measure the barometer on what could be coming the Steelers’ way in terms of a fine, the Jets where fined $100,000 dollars when the teams former strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi tripped a Miami gunner also on a return.
Early reports also suggested that the Steelers could be docked a draft pick however FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer said that’s likely not to happen in the video below.
