Giants: Brian Daboll isn’t committing to a starting QB for Week 17

In a bid to turn the tide, the Giants opted for a quarterback switch at the start of the second half in their Monday game against the Eagles.

With the Giants trailing 20-3, Tyrod Taylor took over from Tommy DeVito and completed 7-of-16 passes for 133 yards, including a remarkable 69-yard touchdown to Darius Slayton in the fourth quarter that brought the Giants within five points. However, Taylor’s efforts were dampened by an interception on the final play of the game as he desperately tried to equalize before the end of regulation.

Following the 33-25 loss, Giants head coach Brian Daboll shed light on his decision to bring in Taylor. He candidly stated that the team was struggling to put points on the board with DeVito and wanted to explore a different approach simply stating that “We weren’t scoring any points”. Daboll further added, “I don’t really have anything else to add to that. I just did it to try to spark the team.”

Looking ahead to their Week 17 home game against one of the league’s hottest teams the Rams, Daboll mentioned that they would discuss their plans in the coming week.
