On this date fourteen years ago, Manny Ramirez gave us one of those Manny moments that we would eventually shrug off and simply tab it up to Manny being Manny. Oddly enough though when Manny cut off Johnny Damon‘s throw from the outfield of Fenway with one of the prettiest dives we’ve ever seen on a cut, it may have actually saved the throw from going out of play and into the dugout.
I mean look at where Damon’s throw is going.
I doubt however that’s what Manny was anticipating. In face I’m pretty sure no one could quite put their finger on what was going through his head most of the time which is what made the former outfielder one of the most entertaining to watch.
