Former President George W. Bush got a little closer to the game between the Rangers and White Sox than the secret service probably would’ve liked.
The President and former First Lady Laura Bush were enjoying the game from the owners box at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington when a foul ball went straight for them. White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski tried to catch the foul ball by reaching around the protective netting. He however was unsuccessful.
Afterwards, Pierzynski said he had a few light-hearted words for the former Commander and Chief, “Just cause he was the president doesn’t mean I wouldn’t jump on top of him.”
President and Mrs. Bush had a good laugh and the Rangers went on to win the game 4-0 which probably had them smiling more considering President Bush use to own the Rangers as well.
